I've owned and carried a number of Glocks in. I recognized the low CSP number easily and the owner of the shop who sold it brand new researched his records and confirmed it was the same gun. I saw it first brand new in a shop 2.5 years ago and I picked it up after someone traded it in in another shop.
GLOCK 19 VERSUS SMITH AND WESSON 915 SERIAL NUMBER
It has the usual S&W VKN prefixed serial number on frame, slide, and barrel and a second CSP prefixed number on the frame only. I don't know if what I have is a "production overrun" on a LEO agency contract or a limited edition commemorative, it has never seen duty use (there is no holster wear or "marks" on the slide) and internal wear on the slide indicates extremely little firing has been done. Two tone with dark slide (Don't know if it's blued or black stainless) on the usual silver/grey matte frame with the Colorado State Patrol emblem etched on the right side of the slide, Novak style tritium night sights, and the safety/decocker spring loaded to return to the "fire" position. You ought to see the 4013 I picked up a couple of months ago. You ought to try out both and see which one you like better. (Come on down and go shopping!)īy all means, if you like a Glock, then go with a Glock. Going for about $600 around here, while perfectly serviceable Smiths go for about $400. The folks I have heard badmouth S&W still praise Colt and Ruger.Ĥ) Prices vary from place to place. Magazine limit), so IMO, that isn't a viable argument, as most of Was when it was Bill Ruger himself who suggested the ten-round I fired, my skill with the Glock wasn't as great as what it wasģ) The "sellout of S&W" was preceded by Colt and Ruger( that It didn't jam up after that, but in the 250 rounds The first TWO rounds of the FIRST magazine Seems a bit moot unless when you are talking about pistol distances i.e., "here to over there".Ģ) I have had exactly ONE Glock (G19), and I fired about 250 rounds through it. ZERO breaks with any S&W automatic, and accuracy with a pistol In over 27,000 rounds through ten separate pistols. That's roughly 24 failures of different kinds
I am not necessarily a clean freak, but Iĭo maintain my guns. To feed, extract, and fire number about two dozen, combining all 40 cal., and so far, just shy of 1000 rounds of 10mm. Over my shooting logs I have expended 13,125 rounds of 9mm of Maybe I'm unusual or just lucky, but in poring Now before anyone starts to yell,ġ) I've had MANY S&W autos over the years: S&W 4006, S&W 4506, S&W 4506-1, S&W 1006 (my latest buy), S&Wģ913 (stolen, BTW), S&W Sigma, S&W Sigma (enhanced), S&WĤ516 (traded for my 4506-1), original S&W M59, original S&W
